>Conflict Resolution
The Kankakee Center for Conflict Resolution provides an outlet for citizens to resolve conflict of cases too small for court, ongoing cases that are mandated by the courts, and police referrals. The Kankakee Center for Conflict Resolution is one of the two original conflict-resolution centers to provide free mediations in Illinois, and its services are always free. (The other original conflict-resolution center offering mediations is the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution.) With over twenty extensively trained volunteer mediators, we are proud to be a part of the fastest growing widely-accepted services provided today.
This free service requires no attorney. A trained volunteer mediator assists the parties to make their own decisions and is strictly confidential. The features of this service include:
Being an outlet to resolve conflict privately and without violence
Requiring no attorney costs
Providing neutral and non-judgmental mediation
Also, Rule 905 from the Illinois Supreme Court (see here for more info) requires Family Court Judges to mandate mediation for parents attempting to resolve issues relating to their children. The Kankakee Center for Conflict Resolution is the court-approved local site for mandated-mediations for those unable to pay.
